Although consumption tax (5% of the successful bid price) is levied on all market purchases by nonresidents, buyers can obtain a rebate by signing a rebate application at the market administration office. The rebate will be the amount of tax paid, less the rebate application fee and the remittance charges and will be paid at a later date.
