The MRA Awards for excellence in Malaysia and Singapore racing were announced earlier this month at a gala dinner held on February 7th in Singapore. It was good news for Japanese-bred horse that El Dorado (Stay Gold - White Leap), the Japanese-bred winner of the 2008 Singapore Gold Cup (G1), was one of the three finalists for Da Ma Cai Champion Horse of Singapore. Although the honor went to Australian-bred Top Spin (Arena - Gas) who won 6 group races in 2008, El Dorado's Gold Cup win last year certainly attracted attention to Japanese-bred horses.
